PIE to Develop New STEM Curriculum for Ohio Students Focusing on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
CINCINNATI – (May 10, 2016) Partnership For Innovation in Education (PIE) is focusing on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum to develop new curriculum for Ohio students that instructs them on the business of running a museum.
“Through this collaboration, students will get the chance to learn how the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame became one of the most successful specialty museums in the world. Museums are tourism and economic development ‘engines’ of growth. This is a great way for students to use their classroom skills and apply it to a real world situation,” said Mary Welsh Schlueter, CEO for PIE.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame located in Cleveland opened its doors in 1995 and was established by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation to celebrate the music and musicians that changed the world. The museum’s mission is to engage, teach and inspire through the power of rock and roll. It carries out this mission by operating as a world-class museum that collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets rock and roll music through its library and archives as well as educational programs.
